Learn how to use the proper settings to capture a beautiful sunset.Beyond just being a natural phenomenon, the setting of the sun symbolizes many things to a variety or people and cultures. The setting of the sun represents the completion of a day's work, so it represents the opportunity to rest.

Street Photography

Saturday 14 September
20th Street - 8am - 2 Hours
Jesse Najera
People, cafes, vendors, street merchants, buskers, historic buildings, art installations and much more. The power of observation underpins the art of great street photography. Learning to "see" interesting detail is a practised skill and we introduce you to easy methods that will open your photographer's eye and expose you to a world that is alive with detail. The most rewarding part of the class is learning how to approach interesting people and have them willingly pose for you.

We will also go over settings, focusing techniques and lens choices common to street photography to help us capture those random chance encounters.

Always a pleasure. Jesse is very warm, friendly, and knowledgable in photography.
Jesse was nice and knowledgeable. Really enjoyed the class
Jesse was very knowledgeable and presented the material in an easy going but thoughtful manner. He answered questions to everyone?s benefit and did not condescend.

This was my second excursion onto the downtown streets in Jesse's class. The lessons were even more insightful this time. I especially liked that he gave each of us personal time and reviewed and commented on our photo taking results.
The instructor was great. The photowalk was amazing. Highly recommended !
I thoroughly enjoyed Jesse's class. He broke down the basics into clear segments and then we got out on the street and put to practice what we learned. Jesse provided clear exercises and helped us manage our cameras to get the shots we tried for.

Jesse Najera made class truly enjoyable, easy to understand and, oh, did I mention well paced and fun? He is very knowledgeable and the experience provided a ton of technical skills, which with practice will raise my game going forward. Also, the location was great with unlimited subject matter in the downtown area. I have already highly recommended Jesse's class to friends.
I enjoyed the hands on experience with the teacher.
    went very well

I learned more in 3 hours than I have in multi-day courses. Michael was easy to learn from.
    Michelle Etter
Dr. Perry was great and very inforomative. He had so much knowledge. I will definetly take another class from him. I appreciate that he shared someof his work with us. It was great to see what a professionals photos looked like.
I enjoyed Michael Perrys class. He is very informative and helps pinpoint many things in our cameras that we have not known about, he is easy to follow along when taking photos and setting up cameras. I do wish to learn more from him.

The photo was taken at Highway 178 and Rancheria Rd. in Bakersfield, CA at 12:00 am.I have always been fascinated with space. When I heard that we had the possibility to see the northern lights, I immediately knew I had to go out and see it for myself. So me and my dad drove for 20 minutes to get to a darker part of town with less light pollution. It was so beautiful, you could make out a red, hazy hue in the sky, but the white light rays were so prominent and bright.Camera Settings: Canon

This image was captured during the totality phase of the solar eclipse on Monday, April, 2024, in Ft. Worth, TX.The gear: Canon Rebel T7, EF 70-200 lens set at 200mm, 2X converter, Lee 100 x 100mm solar filter. The settings: ISO 6400, -2 ev, f/5.6, 1/1000 sec.My thoughts: There are times when a photograph, no matter how impressive, simply can not compare to the enormity of witnessing an event. This was one of those times.

It was nothing but grey skies and rain for days on end, but I decided that you don't always need epic sunsets for great photos. The dull weather also allowed me to get a 20 second exposure with an ND1000 filter giving that classic wispy water look. A wide angle lens allowed me to get nice and close and emphasize the subject, being that close also meant there was some close calls with the occasional freak wave coming up to where I had my tripod and me running back up the beach to escape them

There?s sunset and there?s sunset like this! As if Mother Nature decided that the colours were not enough and returned with these extraordinary after colours!I was a bit wavering that afternoon looking at those thick clouds building up but then a gap in those clouds made for a colour burst producing a sunset that has by far been one of the best in this year I have seen!
